At Mikula, we strive to bring a celebrity experience approach, a whole-body focus and a welcoming wellness destination. Our new home on North Church Street combines our work within the healthcare field with our heartfelt personal experience in helping others to expand upon everyone’s beauty inside and out. We’ve brought our knowledge and our personal experiences to this new business, sharing these earned insights with you so that you, too, can take proactive, positive, healthful steps toward improved beauty and health. We are excited to meet you, and to add you to our Mikula family.

Mikula Salon & Spa is the newest venture of its founders and owners, Barbara and Ron Cehelsky, who relocated to the Lake Norman area from Pittsburgh, PA in 2017.
We are healthcare professionals, wellness advocates and parents to four children, ages 17-26. Our clients’ health and beauty is our utmost priority with a philosophy centered around the satisfaction of our guests through an approach outstanding service ….and fun!
Our business is inspired by and named for Barbara’s mother, Nancy Jean Mikula – a strong female example of love, family values, fun, care and compassion.
Barbara Cehelsky
Barbara’s passion for the healthcare and beauty industries blossomed at a young age. As a 19-year-old cosmetologist in Pittsburgh, she began to understand the importance of quality products and services on the skin. This served as the catalyst for a lifelong career dedicated to healthful and respectful living.
Barbara continued her education, becoming a licensed registered nurse. She used this new platform to teach, motivate and encourage patients toward healthier lifestyles. She received an opportunity to help a local hospital start and grow its medical spa, which offered superior skincare products in addition to Botox injections, chemical peels, microderm abrasion, laser vein therapy and more. Upon relocating to North Carolina in 2017, Barbara helped open Carolina Wellness Dayspa in Concord. In 2021, she launched her own business, Healthy Skin Spa, in Mooresville. Using her nursing education, and inspired by her mother, she also has dedicated herself to hospice work and providing exceptional end-of-life care to many.
With immense passion and a drive to turn clients into extended family, Barbara now partners with her husband, Ron, toward a joint venture focused on health, wellness and beauty from the heart of downtown Mooresville.
Ron Cehelsky
Ron brings his immense knowledge about vitamins, nutrition and overall physical health of the body and mind to Mikula Salon & Spa. Ron is a three-decade pharmacist professional from Pittsburgh. His experience extends across retail, hospital and residential home settings. Since 2010, he has managed Walmart Neighborhood Market pharmacies across North Carolina and Tennessee. He also has supervised many critical functions of the COVID-19 pandemic response since early 2020.
As driven and passionate as his wife, Ron aspires to deliver exceptional patient care and pharmaceutical knowledge to the communities that he serves – and that now includes his new business and forthcoming clientele in downtown Mooresville.
